Designing work optimised for living, for everyone.

We want to design a work environment that is inclusive to help you build a work schedule around you and your life and not the other way around. While we work with a 4-day workweek system by default, we also believe that greater flexibility generally means greater productivity, too. We choose to measure people by the outcomes delivered and not by hours spent.

This is also called non-linear work. The point is, that a non-linear work-day allows you to construct each day differently. Non-linear thinking is less constrictive – it lets the creative side of you run wild to integrate work and life, which can not only let you boost your creativity, it can also increase possible outcomes both at the workplace and in your personal life.

As opposed to logging on for eight hours straight at a fixed time, you can break up your work days into blocks that best suit your natural working rhythms. A core benefit of non-linear workdays is having control over how to spend your time and getting work done when you’re most productive. Non-linear workdays help shift work from being activity-focused to being outcomes-focused and it aligns with the nature of knowledge work as it enables employees to do their jobs when they’re most creative and productive.

📝 Examples of a non-linear workday

A non-linear workday means that you can move between work and non-work time on an asynchronous schedule - without needing to take time off.

For example, a remote worker may start their day at 6:00 am and work till 9:00 am local time. To spend time with family, this person will not check work email or resume working again until 3:00 pm local time and continue to work until 8:00 pm local time. Tomorrow may be a different schedule depending on work/life circumstances/location/weather.

You can experience non-linear workdays on a spectrum and there are practical, everyday ways to break up your day. This enables you to refresh in a way that is uniquely beneficial to you and can adapt based on the demands of your day.
